Hi,

I just bought a Sony 42" HD PTV from BB. I thoought the
sales guy pushed me into buying a Monster Power HTS3500 line
conditioner for $399.

Do u folks recommend that I keep this line conditioner? And
incase not then any other recommendations.

Tks,

Ramesh.

If you're payin' out like that, I have some snake oil to sell you too!

I would seriously consider taking it back. You do not need a $400
line conditioner. Just get a really good $100 surge protector / UPS
and you'll be fine.

Did he even go so far as to say it would increase your picture quality?

Do a simple test - plug your TV and everything else into the wall and view
it for a while. Then plug everything into the Monster power conditioner. Is
there a noticeable improvement? If yes, keep it. If not return it and get a
surge protector.

The one thing not to do is listen to the advice of people that have never
tried the above experiment. All the theory and benchtesting will not replace
real world testing in your house with your equipment. I use the $199 Monster
power center in several places in my house after testing and seeing real
results. I agree that everything from Monster is overpriced, but I don't see
any other game in town that has the filtering capabilities at that price
point.

Take it back, you've been ripped off. You don't need a "line conditioner".

If line conditioner improves TV reception, then take TV back
to BB as defective. Anything in those Monster Power products
must already be inside the TV.

What do you spend on hair conditioners? $100?
