pentium d 930 v intel core 2 duo e6300

which processor should i buy pentium d 930 or core 2 duo e6300. i am never gona overclock the processor. petium d has bigger L2 cache 4 MB. i can make up my mind. is core 2 duo worth extra money.

If you plan to upgrade the box at all, I'd go Core 2. A year from now you could drop in a quad core CPU if you wanted. The Pentium D is dead-end technology at this point.

C2 E6300 is much faster than P-D 930
You may also buy E4300 when it is available later this month :wink:

The core 2 is definitely worth the extra money. Even though it has less cache, the architecture changes in the C2 make it much faster than the pentium D. The C2 also runs much cooler and uses less power.

Go for the E6300, its a much better cpu then the 930.
