My Specs should be down at the signature section, I'm looking for a good graphics card for my build. Any Recommendations? Please be specific w/ link if possible. This Build is mainly for Video Editing/3D Graphics (not sure if that matters, prob doesn't), and games too (ever once in awhile).

I don't usually take the reviews in major considerations for buying my components, but this card had a fair amount of people rating it 1 egg, couldn't help notice that a a lot of people are complaining about problems cause by the card (black screen, crashes, overheating, etc). Thanks kaotao, but any other recommendations?

I wouldn't worry about the reviews on newegg. Most likely a bunch of newbs who don't know enough to make sure they meet the PSU requirements. There are plenty of people here on the forumz that have them, and are very pleased with them.

Should of probably mention that I'm in Canada, found it on tigerdirect.ca, I did consider the price conversion from US to CA, but it's way too expensive at tiger and canada computer is also pretty pricey. Newegg doesn't deliver in Canada, so I just try to find the same things in my local computer stores, which aren't that bad :)

TigerDirect (looks like the same card recommended but really pricey)

CanadaComputers (not even in stock)
http://canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=011406&cid=999.338

If you can find anything on TigerDirect or Canada Computer thats good for price/performance, that'll be very appreciated.

Heres the top sellers for Graphic Cards for Tigerdirect if that matters.
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=28

If it's US price then it's $200, and CA price would be $250 (thats including tax and other charges)

Thanks for the recommendations so far!

 Both links go to the ATI!

Or was that intentional

A 6800 GT with the 256 bit interface would not be a bad idea either; you are lacking the shader 3.0 model but you get a little more cranking power then a low end 7 series Nvidia

Plus that card is out of stock :p

i second X1950 PRO, it's an amazing deal

I have to concur. Best in that price range and thats a good deal in Canada.

As a side note to Assman:

DAMNIT!! I got caught up in watching your long friggin tag cycle again just for the T&A again. Don't get me wrong, don't change a thing, unless of course you add more T&A lol. Mmmm women, gotta lov'em !

Hes in Canada so newegg suggestions won't help him. Thanks however for trying to help your fellow computer geek tho. Props for that at least :)

Ummm, the 6XXX series cards do support sm3.0, but a 6800GT would still be a bad choice in this situation.

Kaotao, any recommendations for an AGP card that fits my specs? I'm a partial newb, so if you need more info let me know.
I'm basically trying to get games like Oblivion to run smoother (and prettier) on my system. But I'm unsure of what card will do this with the processor I'm running on.....

Thanks

What is your budget, and what kind of power supply do you have (specs)? Even though upgrading from that Socket A would be wise, you still have some upgrading options if you're not ready to upgrade everything.

My CPU voltage is 1.66v. Not sure if that's what you meant. I'd be willing to spend up to $200 to replace this x1600pro.
