Now that is the way to say it.

About the 4mb and 2mb, you can find an article in Anandtech they made, the most gained from 4mb was 16% on perfomance I think, but the most important thing is that 4mb are gonna be usefull in a not far away future. Thats guarantee.
About the motherboard I could not really tell because I have not heard of a good board for less than 150$ but the NewEgg reviews should be enough to let you know about the boards (if they have any problems or anything etc)

The DS3 is a great board btw, if you really like that one, go ahead, so far I heard good things about it.

It was 10%, and that was in Divx. Average gain was less than 5%.

Just to let you know, the e4300 only uses 1mb of memory, and its not shared

The E4300 has the same amount of L2 cache as any other Allendale, namely 2MB shared. The Pentium E2xxx series comming out in Q3 of this year will be the ones with only 1MB of shared L2. All of Intel's dualcore CPUs based on the Core 2 architecture have shared L2 cache.

No its not. Get your facts right. 4MB is not a large improvement over 2MB at all, with an average difference of 3.5%. What information do you have that points to applications (which often take years to develop) to suddenly be much faster in the 'not too distant future'?
