Does anyone have an X1950XTX with an Thermalright HR-03 cooler on it? I purchased one and have yet to put it on (waiting until my new CPU cooler comes in).
I just wondering if the memory heatsinks that come with the cooler are going to do the job of keeping the memory cool enough. I was wanting to overclock the card after the new cooler is on to 700MHz core and 1100MHz(2200 effective) memory. The core speed shouldn't be a problem but I don't know about putting more clock speed into the memory without anything to really cool the modules. I am putting a 92mm fan on the cooler so that might provide a little airflow over the modules.
I know GDDR4 requires less voltage than GDDR3 so it should run cooler.
I'm also wondering about the voltage regulators. The stock X1950XTX cooler includes a heatsink on the VRMs but without a fan pulling air off it I'm not sure how effective it'll be. I have a little Northbridge fan that came with my P5W-DH Deluxe that I was gonna see if it'll attach to the heatsink and use that if it will.
Anyone know anything? I guess if the HR-03 can keep the X1900XTX cool it should be able to keep the X1950XTX cool.
