Why the price rise?

Core 2 Duos in the UK seem to have gone up in price, the E6300 went from £111 which i bought it at to £125 all of a sudden.

Its put the new C2D buy in jeopardy

Supply and demand?

If something is in high demand, some etailers/retailers will put a "premium" or tack on an added cost to the item. (See Newegg @ any new CPU release).

If you don't need the CPU right away, just wait a bit. If you do need one now, then you'll have to deal with the price rise.

The price has also gona up some @ Newegg. The E6300 was listed at $183, and now it's $190.
