Antec 500 Phantom metal brackets - how to install?

Does anyone know how should the Phantom's metal brackets be installed?

I have a Phantom 500, I've always installed it like any other power supply, without the extra brackets.

Like you, I've installed the Phantom 500 without the brackets, but I heard that the brackets somehow add extra support compensating for the high weight.
