I don't think you look for anything specifically for that model, which I
also have. I have a old Atlantic Technology satellite and sub set but
haven't hooked it up to the TV yet.

It just depends on what kind of material you view. For DVDs, you
obviously want a surround-sound, 5.1 speaker set up. HDTV programs also
have 5.1 soundtracks. But the kind of movies or shows you watch use 5.1
more than others. Hollywood blockbusters use 5.1 soundtracks more often
and in a more flashy way than say independent films.

Most of the mass market brands have "home theater in a box" which often
includes all the speakers you need plus a surround-sound processor or
even a full HT receiver.

But the less you spend, the smaller the speakers so if you really want
thundering sound for those action blockbusters, you need bigger
subwoofers and more amplifier power to drive them.

Personally, I would stay away from most Japanese speakers but most of
these kinds products are made by the big Japanese companies. But others
may not mind the sound of these brands.

The set was fairly impressive out of the box. But a few things bothered me,
like HBO coming through very dark. Anyway, I looked at the ISF list of
professional calibrators and found one in my area. If you don't know much
about this--I didin't--have a look at AVSforum.com. The calibration cost
300 plus some cables. But the tv now performs completely differently. It's
astoundingly beautiful.Calibration involved getting into the innards, the
"service menu" that non-specialists cannot access and we would know what to
do with it anyway. Don't know about PIP but the tv supports dual images. The
other thing was that I dropped cable and got a Dish satellite hookup and
that's wonderful as well.

Helped everything. Maybe some of this could be done with one of those dvd's
that helps one set up the tv, like avia. Don't know for sure. But it's
altogether different now, on every channel.
