If one has a hdtv integrated TV does on still have to purchase/rent
the recieve from dish network/Voom/direct tv

Yes. Built in one is only OTA reception.

You don't need another receiver if the built-in one has a Satellite input
that is Directv compatible, check your manual. Voom requires that you use
their own receiver.
