Need help finding the best AGP 4x card. I picked up a ATI x1950 but it has either PCI-X16 or AGP8x.

All AGP 8x cards will work on AGP 4x.

Wow so my 4x AGP MB will work with the 8X agp Ati x1950 card?

Yeah,. although your older CPU might not be a good pair to an X1950 PRO.

You might be better off saving your money and getting a cheaper card like a 7600 GT...

Thanks guys. I have about 1.2TB of raid p-ata with 8 drive on MB now and the reinvestment for the sata will kill me. I almost got a 6700 with 9 sata card, pci-x16 and 1GB for $700 :0 (saving for it now) Ok. What is the fastest AGP 4x board I should get for my current system with P4 2.2 and 1GB?

PS the reason I got the ATI x1950 was because it was $150 AR :)

Are you saying my good ole 2.4C not so good with X1950 PRO?

Well, I found the 2500+ I tested bottlenecked the X1950 PRO to the same results as the 7600 GT.

So in some cases, it certainly seems like a CPU 2500+ and under will bottleneck...

Yeah, "Simon says..."

Why not get yourself a pci raid card? Or two. I'm sure there are some out
there with two patas, that is four disks. Two cards and you're there.
