Will my 500w PSU (w/ ONE +12v rail) support my X1950 XT?

the label on the side of the PSU says the +12v rail is rated for 34A. Here are the rest of my specs:

Pentium 4 3.2 GHz (w/ HT)
Asus P5RD1-V Motherboard
Geil 2GB DDR (PC3200) RAM
Soundblaster Audigy
80GB Serial ATA HDD

What do you guys think?

More about will 500w rail support x1950
  1. 34 on 12v should be 408 watts at 100% effeciency. so ~ 350watts at normal efficiency, correct? I would say you shouldn't have a problem assuming its a quality PSU.
  2. I run an x1900xtx with an antec 450
  3. You only need 24 amps on the 12v rails for that system plus 2-4 for safety equals 28 amps.
You have a lot power. Good for next computer too.
  4. it shuld do, my 450w psu has 18amps on the 12th rail and it works out perfect
