Maybe it's not ... no matter!

World peace, let's bring that topic up once more if you please. Why? Simple, if it is not discussed or brought up to mind, it will never come about. What is your vision of the futur? Say 50 years...say 100! Are you optomistic or something else and why! I have my own experience on the matter but i want to know yours. If you intend to brush off the matter with a wimsical remark thi8nk of the children of the world, think of yours if you have any , or think of and children that you hold dear to youeself, if you have any, and ask yourself id that wimsical remark will serve them in their striving for a better world! i know this is a difficult topic and one that goes deep to ones meaning of existing so it's ok if you prefer to abstain, but in the long run you do know you will have to confront it.

So...how do you imagine the next 100 years of humanity?

OK, I'll bite because I'm feeling blah and I don't give a shyt at the moment...

Pike, those wishing for world peace are idiots. Plain and simple. It's a wonderful goal, and I'd like to see it, but it's not gonna happen. And I'll give you a few reasons why.

First off, define "world peace."

You want different countries to stop fighting each other? Not gonna happen long term. There's too many different types of people / religions / beliefs / hatred out there for EVERYONE to get along for a long period of time. It's inevitable that sooner or later, some mad ruler is going to want to take over someone else's land, and we have a conflict. And it doesn't even have to happen between countries. It can happen within a country. You have two groups fighting for control of a country, that doesn't sound very peaceful, does it? No, not really. Let's not forget gang warfare. It's got warfare in the name, hardly peaceful, is it??
Speaking of gang warfare, what about crime? If someone gets shot, for whatever reason, that's not very peaceful either, is it? No, not really. So, now let's look realistically at "world peace." IMHO, you would have to get rid of ALL fighting and ALL violent crimes if you TRULY want world peace. And we all know that's NEVER going to happen... You going to tell me we have world peace when I'm scared to walk around alone at night in different parts of Chicago? I think not.

So please, take your ideal of world peace and shove it deep where the sun don't shine.

But I won't leave you with all doom and gloom. You did ask what about the future and the children and all that happy horseshit... So here's my plan. I'm going to strive for world peace in my own little world. I'm going to be there to improve the lives of my family and friends, helping out when needed, donating what I can to those that need it. And I'm going to be the best father that I can be so that my daughter can grow up and make her little world better as well. And that's a goal I can accomplish.


Forget world peace. Improve your own little slice of the world. Fix what you can fix.

actually the reason there will be no peace is because human as a species are 1) tribal 2) selfcentered and 3) intelligent so with that being said any normal human will look to get what he wants for himself, group up with those of the same interests, and try to get what they want from other groups for the tribe...

you can apply that to any basic things, ie. war, murder, wives, etc. etc. etc.
