Hi

I'm in the Lower Tunnels of the Beholder Caves in Hordes of the Underdark
and am trying to kill Bebilith. Her challenge rating is supposed to be easy
but I can't kill her for love nor money! Can anyone help me please?

Explore the level a bit more and see if you can find a way to remove the
"null magic" field.

The battle is really easy when all your magic items work. I'd advise against
it while magic is unusable

She wasn't that big a deal to me. Note, however, that you
can deal with the obelisk first.

That Bebilith is a nasty critter... with the anti-magic field around, you
can't use your potions, and it can rip your armor away in mid-fight. Very
nasty.

For characters with good lock-picking skills, or good lore skill, you can
walk around the dungeon and use another entry - one is unlocked with a
device requiring high lore, another (IIRC) is hidden and can be searched and
opened with sufficient thieving skills. One pass those doors you can
deactivate the anti-magic field - then that Bebilith will be very easy to
kill.

For a warrior, you can only reload and hope you get lucky. Use your med
kits.

Not much luck actually, there is a button nearby the door that needs to be
opened. If your lore skill is high enough you'll se that one of the effects
of the button is 'knock'. But you don't really need to know that for it to
work. Just press the button a few times, it should cast knock some where in
there.

IIRC, I managed it (barely) and only because I'd been saving the
alchemic fire (?) flasks (the area of effect ones) - going through the
northern entrance into the cave, toss one or two, then run out (it
can't fit through the passage) to use heal kits - then returning to
throw the small alchemic fire flasks (single target ones) when I ran
out of large ones. Took a lot of pausing the game to set up to throw
right away.

Eh. It's slow. My weapon master just dropped all non-equipped items on
the ground so he would no longer be encumbered and ran around it to the
magic suppression device. Turned it off, went back and smacked the
bebilith down and picked up all his things. Piece o' cake.

I tried to manipulate that "Ancient device" with my monk, and the device
self-destructed on her first try. She had never worked on her Lore skill.

And that she had no points added in Search and Open Locks, the only way was
to fight the Bebilith. But her henchmen didn't last long in this fight -
their armor were quickly removed.

She ended up trying to keep the Bebilith focus on her, using lots of med
kits and let the henchmen kill it.
