I need to check my email every once in a while. I do not want to
download the entire message just the subject and perhaps the first few
lines. Then if I want to I would like to be able download the entire
message. Does there exist such a program that runs on a Dell Axim
v50v?

Pocket Inbox will do this if you configure it to check every [x] minutes and
download nothing, or some [y] KBytes of the message.

You can check Pocket SpamFilter from www.pocketpcsoft.com. You can download headers only, or headers + few lines of a message and it
can take care of spam

Yeah I love this prog...it's the ONLY one I've found
that lets me map to non-standard ports (via my proxy
server).
