I am going to be going 8800 gtx sli and i have a ocz 700w gamextream psu and ordered a thermaltake w0099ru powerexpress psu

http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/product/Power/PurePower/w0099/w0099.asp

I just wanted to know if anyone is using the thermaltake psu with a 8800 gtx sli setup and how they have it configured. do they have one pci connection from the main power supply and on from the thermaltake psu and which pci power connection on the 8800 gtx using what psu unit connection. i.e does the left power connection get it power from the main psu and the right power connection get its power from the thermaltake powerexpress psu.

or is the thermaltake psu strong enough to power one of the gtx's independently. from reviews i have read one 8800 gtx consumes 280-300 watts of power on load.

any feedback on this is greatly appriciated

thanks

sean

I don't know where you found that review but a GTX cannot consume 280-300W of power, the connectors to the card can only supply a max of 225W (Card slot:75 + 6pin connectors x 2 = 150 +75) I think they only consume ~150W but it will definitely power a single GTX.
