hey ive recently got into building a pc but seeing as i dont have much $$$ im trying to make a budget system for some gaming and all around applications video editing and browsing and just would like your guys notification if this build will suit my needs

Motherboard - ASUS A8N SLI-SE socket 939 ddr1 ram (already bought it)
Processor - AMD X2 4200 + socket 939 ( heard this was pretty good?)
video card - Palit Geforce 7600GT ( heard this was a good card to considering i want to play games like quake 4 , fear and CS)
Ram - was thinking some good corair dual channel 1GB
PSU - im sticking to my 305 watt PSU at the moment
Case - thermaltake matrix VX (its my friends hes using the PSU since he got another case and would this case let me get into water cooling :) ?)

so you opinions would be very appreciated

cheers Ep1demic  :p :!: :!:

hmm ive hear about people running much better systems than mine on 250watt ( some dude was running a BFG 7900GTX!) will it really be unsafe to use a 305watt PSU ?? because if its the ram taking up power im only putting in 512mb for the moment so my temporary systems gna be the mobo x2 cpu 7600GT and 512mb pc2700 ram will that be alright on 300w? 8O

For sure you will need a better PSU than what you have right now. Go get a 500W PSU it plenty enough. And why choose socket 939 when there is socket AM2.

hey and another reason for 939 is because this computer is going to tide me over till i start making some good income so i just want a pc that will last me for like 2 years until i get my DX10 beast

so since i am pretty tight right now im guessing ill say goodbye to my 7600GT and instead pick up a silverstone 550w PSU first

finally some words i was looking forward to thank you in the end with a x2 i was wasting my money because if im going to get dual core its definitly going to be Core 2 extreme so as long as this system runs the games i want with a bit of anti aliasing and HDR here and doesent slow down to bad when i use lots of apps at once ill be a happy little chappy

Not much people get the E6800. When they can have the same performance with a OC E6600 for like $600 cheaper and if your multitasking and doing video editing (which I do too) a lot, the QX6700 or QX6600 would be a much smart and better choice.
