I posted this topic in hard drive section, but now I'm wondering if i could get more help from readers here. Basically here's the deal. My friend wants this hard drive, but he wants to put it in a Dell dimension 8400. ( yeah I know ) Well anyway, the case doesnt have much airflow, and from what Ive seen on reviews for this hard drive, It's pretty awsome.... but runs really hot. I was looking at a vantec vortex cooling enclosure and thought it would be great , but he has no available 5.25 drive bays.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

hdd cooling is optional really. unless he has an ambient tempo of like 45, or several hdds stacked together, don't worry about it. just leave at least 2cm clearance above and below.

most modern hdds run fairly hot ~45

cooling wouldn't hurn though, it might make it last slightly longer and itd force more ar into the pc
