Not sure if this is the right forum, but I didn't see a router specific board. However, I just recently bought this router to replace my WRTG54 which I have never had good luck with, but that is neither here nor there.

Anyway, I placed it on top of my cable modem, plugged it in, and everything was great, although, over the past 3 days of owning it, the quality has just gone way downhill. It used to work wicked fast with no problems what so ever. Now though, wired or wireless has HORRIBLE response times. It's like it is restarting itself every minute or two, although it doesn't indicate that in the lights.

I ended up just taking it off and going back to the linksys, and when i did, the belkin was HOT. Could that have had some impact on it?? I am clueless as to why it would be so bad, but it was. I even reverted to factory defaults twice, and the first time it worked, but quickly reverted back to it's old ways, and the second time it didn't even do anything.

Any help would be appreciated, otherwise, this is going back to the store.

Check out this router chart. Belkin has a bad reputation with those products.

Here's one thing to try... A firmware upgrade (if you haven't already)

Also, try putting the router someplace cooler (not on top of another heat emitting device like the cable modem).
