My daughter has gotten her computer in a total mess, and I am trying to clean
it up so that we can reestablish her network connection. The problem I am
having is with two programs - TBPS.exe and TBPSSvc.exe (I am pretty sure they
are Ibis Toolbar programs), causing major loops, especially since they are
trying to reach out to internet and she has no connection right now. I
cannot end the processes, either I get ACCESS DENIED, or they stop and
immediately reappear as running processes. I have tried taking them out of
STARTUP under MSCONFIG (they appear as TBPS), but they immediately replace
themselves into STARTUP. I have tried running AdAware during restart, but
the program (TBPS.exe) loads itself prior to most anything on the system (it
is one of first 5-10 processes to load.) As you can see, I am in a no win
situation, I cannot delete the files because they are in use, but I have no
way of stopping them from running. Without deleting these processes (which
are looping), I have no way to fix her network connection. Any suggestions
to getting to these two files (TBPS.exe and TBPSSvc.exe) and deleting them
BEFORE they start automatically running?? At my wits end, can use any help
you have! Thanks!

Boot into Safe Mode and delete those malicious programs.
