Wireless internet no longer functions upstairs

A friend has a D-Link wireless router placed in his basement.

For about a year, everything worked fine, his laptop could access the web from the second floor or from the basement.

However, a few days ago, his laptop can only access the web when inside the basement. When he goes up it no longer works.

Any clues on what the problem might be?

Sounds like one of the radio's have lost power. Is the Laptop working fine with other networks? It's the easiest to test.

Log on to the dlink and verify that the radio is set to full power, if it has power settngs. Also you can check the energy and power settings on the notebook adapter.
