First, I wanna say hi to everyone. I've been reading TG forumz for quite some time but this is my first post. I have some info regarding water pumps that is contrary to what we have always been told. I just took my watercooling setup (Danger Den) out of one case and put it in another, configured in such a way that I can freely access my pump's rheostat.
I noticed that my temps go up when I turn my pump's rheostat up increasing the power which in turn transfers additional energy in the form of heat to the loop.
A stronger, more powerful pump doesn't necessarily mean better temps.

It may help to know I'm using 3/8" tubing.

That is quite possible, but VERY dependent on the individual setup.

The D5 is well known for dumping a lot of heat into the water. If your radiator is already bordering it's max dissipation of heat, the added heat of the pump will increase temps slightly when running at a higher speed.

Do you happen to be running a Swiftech Storm or another impingent block? I know your situation has been the case for a few people using blocks that don't necessarily have flow rate that scales equal to the pump's increase flow rates.
