X1950 and SLI

I am confused as to whether or not ATI cards can only be used with a crossfire chipset, or if one could be used with the SLI chipset. I know this is probably a dumb question but I have never really seen anything answering this question.

You can run ATI cards with Nvidia mobos, and vice versa with no problems. You only run into problems trying to run crossfire (dual ATI cards) in an SLI mobo, or SLI (dual Nvidia cards) in a crossfire mobo.
