Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help,
My ATI x800xt fan is not running thus my gaming keeps crashing due to over heat then once the temp cools I can play till overheat again.
The fan is ok as I have tested it seems it is not getting power from the PCI slot to run it.I have installed ATI tools but cannot get it to run either at temp or at 100%.
Any ideas as to how I can get this sorted or has the card given up on that particular job.
Any ideas would be good.
Many thanks,
Heeder.

It may be possible that it is some sort of driver corruption but I don't think so.

You could try unstalling the drivers and then reinstalling them but I expect that the card is going to be faulty.

You said that you tested the fan, did you supply power directly to it and it ran? Is the card still under warranty, you would be quite justified in RMA'ing if it is, otherwise why not just supply power to the fan direct from one of the motherboard headers, at least the fan will run.

Hiya Duke,
Tried virtually all stages of driver no go.
I thought it was a knackered fan so bought an Artic Cooling one fitted it and still no go so put power through a transformer direct to old fan and hey presto up it fired! So it seems that the card isn't allowing power to get to the fan.
Thing is a friend of mine has nearly the same spec PC and his card is doing the same! Yet they used to run fine. 2years old now so no chance of RMA.
I may have to run it at 100% off the mobo and live with that if I can find the right type of connector.
C ya,

Heeder.
