Sorry if someone already touched upon this but... I have no pci or pci-e slots left and I don't want to do USB. I figure Firewire off my sound card wouldn't be much better. Is SATA a weird option I have? Do TV Tuners have built in sound good enough that it can replace my Audigy 2? I'm a gamer so I need decent hardware sound so I can keep up with the FPS ho's. Thanks in advance.

No SATA will not be an option, I'm 99.99999% sure that TV tuners don't have sound outputs intended for gaming. You apparently have 4 options.

1. USB

2. Firewire

3. Replace your soundcard

4. rebuild your computer

If you have sound on your motherboard then ditching your sound card is probably your best bet, the FPS drop will minor though the sound quality make take a dive (depending on how good it was to begin with)

Thanks for the info..... still a hard decision for me though... I don't know what motherboard would have more PCI slots and be SLI though. I guess one with built in wireless... anyhow... thanks again.

What do you need slot wise? and what is your current CPU?

What motherboard do you have? How many slots; type; current use?

ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
2 x PCI-e both with 7600gt

2 x PCI?
Sound Card
Wireless Internet Adapter Card

Crap.... I wonder if my massive bottom video card is blocking a PCI slot.... I'm thinking I better pull it out and see. My top card is regular size so I could possibly switch them around. Hmmm.... I'm an idiot... I just checked online and apparently I have 3 PCI slots.... one must be hidden. Thanks for kicking my slow brain into gear... sometimes I swear it's like the wheel is spinning... but the hampster is dead. Time to give it a shot... thanks again.
