Due to read problems with my CD drive, I've copied all the files from
my Win2K install disk to the hard disk of my laptop in the hope of
being able to install the OS directly from the hard drive.
When I boot off of a Win98 floppy disk and try to run the install, I'm
told that I can't run it under DOS even though it's actually Win98.
I've created a set of setup up disks but they ultimately want to get
the OS files from the CD as well. When I try to just exit from the
setup problem in the hope of being at a Win2K command prompt, it forces
a re-booting of the machine.
How can I run the Win2K install from my hard drive?
TIA,
David
