My M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard is being quite a nag. After installing the SATA driver the Safely remove hardware icon pops up for my hard drive.

Totally normal.

If you hate the icon appearing all the time (Safely Remove hardware) Right click on Taskbar Properties Customize (Under Notification area) Find Safely Remove hardware and Highlight Alway Hide.

Isn't that an 'all or none' setting?

Because you proposed the solution... So if I take that advice, will I (or the OP) still see my flash drive's been inserted?

I just uninstalled the SATA driver. I just find it weird a hard drive would trigger the safely remove hardware window. I'll stick to XP's SATA driver.
