Will be using this computer to run WoW, winamp/windows media, vent, CS1.6. My budget is around $1000.

Case:
1. COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119068

Hard Drive:
1. Seagate 320GB 7200RPM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148140

Optical Drive:
1. Samsung - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827151133

GPU:
1. eVGA GeForce 7900GS - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130056

CPU:
Intel:
1. E6400 Conroe 2.13GHz - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115004

Q2 C2D prices will be coming down, the E6600 will come down to the price of the current E6400.. not to mention it is a 4mb cache. I don't know if it's worth waiting three months or not for the extra performance <_<.
link to E6600 for quick reference.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115003

PSU:
I chose Thermaltake 500W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153028
out of the other four.

1. Antec Smartpower 500W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103937
2. Antec Truepower 550W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817371002
3. Enermax 485W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817194009
4. FSP Group 450W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104954

Motherboard:
I chose the GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128017
out of the other four.

1. BIOSTAR TForce965PT - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138037
2. ASUS P5B-E - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131070
3. ASUS P5N-E SLI - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131142
4. GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128012

I need help finding the right motherboard... so if someone could recommend me one, it would be great.

RAM:
1. CORSAIR XMS2 2x1GB 1.9V - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145590

Thank You!

CPU: both are very good bang for buck, if you can afford E6400 go for it.

motherboard: nice mobo, might also want to look at gigabyte s3 and compare

gfx card: I think a 7600GT should run on max settings?? never played WoW before so no idea but if not then get a 7900GS.

PSU: definately change, those are crappy marks. Get enermax or thermaltake or another good brand around 400W

memory: 1 gb should be enough but two would be better so you wont need to upgrade in futur and can run vista smoothly

Advice on the Case - at least 2 120mm fans - one in , one out. Just my 2 cents - the centurion seems to be what you are sold on - but try to find something with 2-120mm fans as an alternate selection.

The PSU - Forton 450W - Dual 12V 18A each would probably fit the bill. It's a quality manufacturer with a good reputation. Otherwise - go to the forums page, and review the PSU 101 sticky at the top of the list.

MB - The Gigabyte S3, DS3 are good - ABIT AB9 is reasonable, and the ASUS P5B Deluxe are good too.

Good luck.

WoW @ max settings for $1000?

Man I can play WoW @ max settings with 4x AA 16x AF and even 40-man raid with my 750$ PC.

Don't even get me started with my C2D set up.

If you want a great build though, I got you covered.

Let me cook something up for you.

EDIT:

Okay here you go. WoW @ max settings for less than $1000. With the extra money, you could get a better video-card, but the 1900GT will play WoW @ max settings with 4x AA and 16X AF and all the settings maxed out with higher than 50 FPS.

900$ Newegg Wish List

For the PSU the thermaltake is obviously very good as is the enermax. Read some reviews about those models and choose one OR if you want something cheaper then get the FSP which is also good for the price.

FOr the mobo it really depends what your looking for. I would recomend the S3 because its cheap and a great OCer and should have everything you need. IF you want firewire then maybe go with the P5b-E which is also a good card but if not then just stick to the S3.

For the gfx card just choose which ever one is cheapest. i would als recomend look at a review or two on each card to see if there are no driver or cooling problems.

Can you tell me if SLI is worth getting with the DX10 graphics cards that are coming out? If not I think I'll go with the S3 like you recommended.

and thanks for the help.

Sli, behind all the marketing hype, is not a good way to spend your money and generally not advisable. It doesnt give you good performance for price $$ , if you plan on upgrading then its best to sell your older card and jump to the next generation.

The only ppl that might use it are people who want the latest and greatest and would sli two 8800GTXs or two 7900GTXs.
