1) Make darn sure that case can hold an 8800GTX.

2) For the price of your build, spend a bit more money and get a better case, like a Lian-Li or something

3) Get a better power supply.  Spend a bit extra, you won't regret it.  Perhaps an OCZ GameXstream 600w for cheaper, a Seasonic Energy Plus 650w for a bigger budget.

Just out of curiosity, why did you get the 8800?  It is a DX-10 card, and noone else malkes one of those right now.  No competition, therefore you are paying at least 100 extra for the card.  And all this before we gewt into a discussion of the detail that DX-10 isn't out and that there are no games available that need DX-10.

I can understand and appreciate that you want a very top end card, but if I were you, I'd seriously consider sending the 8800 back and exchange it for something like the ATI x1950X.  Performance is more than acceptable, price is pretty good, and the money you save can go into something like a good water cooling system.  I have a sneaking suspicion that you might be interested in overclocking.  THen, some months down the road, when DX-10 is out, and ATI has their own product available, you will be in a better position for buying a DX-10 card.  Even if the nVidea product is a better performer, you will get it for a better price.  You can always sell the ATI card on e-bay for a good price.

WRT case, you may want to take a good look at the Thermaltake Armor Jr.

You haven't said if you are palnning a RAID setup for the hard drives.  I assume that you are looking at either a 0 or 1 array.  This will work but you will have zero data security.  You may be better off swapping out one of the Raptors for two 320 GB 7200 drives like the Seagates and setting up your RAID on those.

I will wait for yor comments before saying any thing morte

I am doing Raid 1 with the raptors and do not need any extra space because I run a NAS box for all my little extras such as photo's, videos and other downloads that do not need to stay on the PC.

As for DX10 games here is a link to this forum.

I am sure there are more things DX10 like Vista and such so it is good just to have the guard to see how things develop along the way.

Watercooling wouldn't work real well for me because as I mentioned earlier I am restricted on space. If I wasn't restricted on space I would get a whole different case and setup.

I am looking at the thermaltake Jr. now.

Thanks for the advice. =)

The Thermaltake Jr. is 19.5 inches in depth which is too big for the space I need it.

It was a close fit though.

Thanks

Hope your monitor is big and displays at 1600x1200 or higher for the 8800GTX to do its work. Otherwise get the GTS.
