How does one use the files in this group?
Are the files playable on a PC HDTV card, such as Hipix?
I guess they need to be decompressed... using "Winrar"?
How does it all work? :/

I've tried twice there, my post gets lost in all the binary files, (they're
posted every minute).

I just took a look over there and saw yEnc files parts for Carnivale. My
experience with these, using Outlook Express, you would need to "copy to
folder" then combine the pieces. Save the combined files with a ".txt"
extension then use yEnc to decode. Do a Google search, there are readers
that will perform several of those steps for you. Once the have been decodes
then you can see if you have or need to get another app to play them.

I always figure yEnc files too much of a hassle for me to fool with.

YMMV

So how do you play them? I downloaded two of the rar files to see what
was in them and found a file ending in .ts I think. Anyway, I have no
idea what kind of data these are.

Look for software that plays transport stream files, these files are
captured from HD ota transmissions. The software for computer HDTV tuner
cards and the next version of nVidia DVD player will play .ts files. The
Fusion HD software records to and plays .ts files. They have a demo at
http://www.copperbox.com/lite/sw.php
but the full software requires the hardware. Google for software, there not
a lot freeware players.

You can use the VLC media player to view .ts files:

because it's a "BINARY" group, not a discussion group like this is.

If you don't know the answer, why not just say so or better yet, not say
anything?

Or, you could use Xnews or latest version of Agent and it decodes
automatically for you(yenc).

If someone is still using Outlook express to cruise the usenet, they need to
go back to their AOL chat rooms trolling for underage hotties instead of
playing in the big leagues.
