The core 2 Duo e4300 is already available on some websites in Europe
Unfortunately, the price is 169 Euros, almost same as e6300

On the other hand, x2 3800+ is keep dropping.
The same website quotes an OEM version at only 96 Euros.

I really want to buy a core 2 and have been observing price in last months. It is really a tale of two cities. The Intel processors are keeping rising, while the AMD processors are falling daily. What are the reasons? The demand for core 2 is too hot, or Intel has supply problem.

At this price difference, it is difficult for me to buy Intel though I am really tempted by e4300's overclocking capablity

Well, theperformance is almost the same (E4300 just slightly leading), The E4300 is a great overclocker but a X2 3800+ has the price on it's side, so basically, without overclocking, a X2 3800+ is a greater bang/buck than the E4300.
