Modern Arcade games, what do they use?

I was at a local arcade the other day called Dave and Busters. I played the arcade game Time Crisis 4 with a friend for 10-15minutes. It was displayed on a 50 to 60 inch Projection HDTV.

I just have to say the Graphics were excellent. I'd say they were somewhere around the level of a XboX 360 or somewhere between a PS2 and PS3.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of systems they use to power these games.

Unbelievable that it's hardware based on the Sony PS2, too.

Kinda looked like it had a cd tray, i always thought the newer game machines had hard drives

Ive seen arcade games that where no more the a powerful pc, a tube, and a coin slot. All enclosed in the classic tower like arcade stand of course.

Be nice to have that, i remember reading years gao that some games could go online and you could playagainst player in arcades around the world
