Hi there,

I have DDR2 Memory @ 667, how fast can I overclock the 6300? I have a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, running 2 gigs of Mem, and a Pentium D 805 running at 3.6, with a Zalman cooler.

Many thanks,

Miro

Assuming you don't want to overclock your RAM, then the fastest base frequency you'll want to use is 667/2 = 333 MHz. With the x7 multiplier of the 6300, this gives you a CPU frequency of 2.33 GHz, or a 25% overclock. It's almost certain you'll be able to manage this on your board, as it should be good for base frequencies of over 400. The E6300 chip has been pushed up to around 3 GHz without increasing Vcore, so it should be easy to hit 2.33 GHz.

If you want to go to higher frequencies, you'll either need faster RAM or RAM you're willing to overclock.
