I have a problem. I have two computers connected to the internet through a hub then through a cable modem. One computer runs flawlessly. But the other will be able to connect to the internet when you first start up the computer but will get permanently disconnected after X amount of minutes and you will have to reset it in order to get on the internet again for several minutes.. It is driving me crazy. Does anybody know what could be the probelm and cure for this? I would really appreciate any help.

Does your ISP actually ALLOW 2 IPs to be connected at once, and are those settings configured properly?

You'll have to set up a proxy or if you are using Win98/ME/2000 you can configure the Internet sharing service within the OS.

How many minutes are X minutes? Is it consistent between reboots? Does the screen saver come on at any time?

I am having the same problem. My 2 comps are connected to a Netgear hub, which is then connected to a router. After a period of random inactivity(usually overnight) the connection goes stale. I then have to restart the computer to get the connetion back. If no one uses the 2nd computer, it goes stale, but sometimes it doesn't, it's really freaky.

If you can help, either prevail or I, I would be greatly appreciative of your efforts.
