the 7900GS is a very powerful card and a great choice. Definitely worth getting.

As for DX10, no. You'll be able to play the new DX10 games when they come out, but only on DX9. To run in DX10 you'd need a card especially designed for DX10 and so far only the 8800 series do that.

But there are no DX10 games out yet, and the prices are still pretty insane so no need to rush out and buy one yet.

Since you won´t build it, you have to stick with it.
like meljor said, the x1950 pro will do better in some games with heavy shaders, but the 7900gs can work it around with a decent overclocking.

i love my 7900gs. basically no problems at the resolutions i use. i have a 19" widescreen and it runs most games maxed out at 1440x900 and those that it doesnt, run good when i lower the resolution to 1280x800 which still looks good.

Good price and performance. Well worth it. Love mine.
Play Doom3 CSS BF2 ect. maxed out 1280x1024 everything on high. Very few slow downs.

The Dimension 9200 comes with a x1300 pro as default I think and dont they charge $185 for the 7900gs to be added on if I were you I would take the default system sell the x1300 pro or equivalent cheap card that comes with it and get a 7900gs or x1950 pro on newegg if you can stretch for it go for the x1950xt.

Anyway back to the 7900gs I bought one 3 weeks ago an xfx one at default clock speeds of 450/1320 and got it to 600/1650 with a little room to spare so thats 35% extra performance on the core and 25% extra on the memory thats 30% extra performace for free all for €161.33 a bargain
