Hey

I am not sure if this is the right topic to post in, please move it elsewhere moderators if i am incorrect of its placement.

I have a pc, i recently upgraded to 160GB HDD SATA11, from 120GB SATA.

The issue is it was working all fine, but as soon as i try to load windows it restarts automatically, if you try to partition the hard drive it jams up on examining it!

Check to see if AHCI is turned on in the motherboard BIOS. If it is, turn it off.

You will experience the symptom you describe if it is. AHCI is an intel specification enabling NCQ protocol handshaking.
