Let me ask a really stupid question. If the two computers are on the same LAN, why don't you just use Windows filesharing or Samba or whatever's applicable to the O/S you haven't mentioned?

lol, im guessing ur using windows..if so download and install bulletproof ftp server...go into ur router settings, enable port forward for ftp....then forward 1024 - 65535....restart and u should be up and running....
of course u'll use ur ip add insted of 192.168.xxx.xxx

hope this helps brother

Not sure why you'd want to forward 1024-65535, since this would break lots of other things, not to mention, FTP's port # is 21 which doesn't even fall in that range. Plus, if the two PCs are on the same LAN, you don't need to do anything to the router (and forwarding any ports at all would just reduce your security).

with bulletproof u have to forward those ports in ur router before it would be up and running...

u forward 2 sets of ports 20-21
and those...

Assuming you've turned on passive mode, then you only need to forward the ports it's actually using. If you can't configure the port range for it to use then it's garbage, grab FileZilla. Actually, I think BPFTP costs money, so get FileZilla anyway.

thats right, im sorry, i should have been more clear

you really shouldnt need to forward the later ports just 20-21 those other ports open your computer way up...
