GPO software deployment

i have been tasked with deploying standard apps via gpo, we want to
install all apps via gpo thus removing the manually installs ones,
what happens with the apps that are currently installed on the pc's,
is the a way in gpo to remove the old app and install it via gpo

When you create new Software installation in GP Editor look at its Properties. Go to Deployment Tab, click Advanced button. You will see "Remove previous installs of this product from this computers, if the product was not installed by Group-Policy based Softaware Installation". Check it and previous softaware will be deleted.
