Hi,
I don't know what happened to my "recycle bin" icon on my desktop, but how
do I get it back?

Try Control Panel>Display>Desktop tab>Customize Desktop... button in
lower-right corner of dialog box. In the next, elongated dialog box,
locatre one of the bins to the right, click on to highlight, then click on
"Restore Default..." button in lower. right. OK to close that, Apply, then
OK to close first dialog box. Should now have abin.

Hi Boyd,

There are different methods to hide/show Recycle Bin in the Desktop. See if
this helps:

Open Regedit and navigate to:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu]
Set the value of {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} to 0 (if the value
exists)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
Set the value of {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} to 0 (if the value
exists)
