OK, after months of tinkering and ripping my hair out, my new build is working perfect. But there is the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing in the system tray all the time which shows my HDD as a removable drive. Its the same this thats there when you plug a jump drive in.

When I click it, it says "Safely remove ST3250820AS - Drive( C: )" and if I click that it (obviously) tells me that it cant be removed right now.

Is this a driver issue? Because I cannot find any drivers that fix it. Is I a setting or something?

Technically its not affecting anything but I have mild Obsessive Compulsive Disorder so it is bugging the hell out of me. Please help.

Thanks.

P.S.

My System:

- DFI LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G
- AMD Athlon 64 3800+ X2 AM2
- Corsair XMS2 1GB 2X512MB PC6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12
- EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT
- OCZ GameXStream 600W ATX12V 24PIN
- Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.10 8MB 8.5MS SATA2
- LG GSA-H22N

nah its fine, its the "hotswap" feature of SATA that you are seeing. You can theoretically disable a drive in windows, and unplug the drive from the computer without shutting the pc down. Dont worry about it, thats normal. Especially on nforce boards.

SATA drives are hot-swappable like USB devices. Of course, it's not very pracical unless you have e-SATA on the back of your motherboard.

You won't be able to eject your boot drive, so don't worry. If you have a secondary drive, you should be able to eject it.

OK thanks, I'm so flippin' happy my months of stress are over.

Can I turn the option off since I'm never going to use it?
