Version numbers of GPT and GPC are not the same. Can someone suggest as to how to find out why they are not in sync and how to get them in sync.

Thanks

Couple of options here. First, is GPC version greater than GPT, indicating
that a change in SYSVOL has not yet made it to that DC? Also, check the PDC
emulator DC--is it in synch with the correct version? If so, and assuming
that its the GPT that is trailing, then compare the SYSVOL contents of that
GPO on the PDC emulator to the out-of-sync version--you can use something
like Windiff for this. Simplest case to get it working quick is that you can
just copy the missing/changed files from PDC to out-of-sync replica GPT.
Best case is to troubleshoot why its not working. Most often if its the GPT,
then its FRS replication gone awry. Check the event logs on the errant DC
for clues and let us know what it says.
