I would like to build a really quiet, really reliable system.

It will not be going nuts here, likely an E6600, 2 gigs of ram, two Harddrive in a Raid 1, plus a mid pack Video card that has 2 dvi outs for my monitors.

Best combo for a really quiet case and a really quiet power supply...?

Within reason, I am not hugely price sensitive..

I hear the Antec Sonota case is good, but that you need a differnt Power suplly than the one they usually bundle with it?

Thanks!

I have a Sonata I

Pros:
Tough steel construction
Quiet
Paint job is pretty tough despite looking fragile
HDD orientation
HDD rack mounts
removable washable air filter
Nice side panel door handle

Cons:
Front ports are mounted on weak plastic that is clipped into place
No front intake (would add noise however)
Rubber feet are taped on and fall off easily (I just ripped them all off =/ )
Collects dust overnight
Door swing isnt reversible
PSU brace gets in the way

Relative:
Looks, I enjoy the somewhat subdued looks
Doors on cases are just annoying to me.
Looks much uglier with the door removed.

Some of these issues may have been fixed on the Sonata II and you may keep your eye out for a Sonata III that was shown at CES2007. It has served me well but with 4 HDDs and 2 optical drives things are getting crowded. Hope those observations help.
