Wanna buy one of these digital TV's until the next generation of sets come
out, then we'll move it from the Family Room into the Master Bedroom.

Plan to set up HD DirecTV, DirecTV Tivo, an OTA antenna in the attic, and
5.1 audio. Any feedback would be appreciated.

TIA, JR

I own the Hitachi (about 4 mos. now) and love it: great picture, comes c.
the contrast turned down already, builtin DVD saves space, and it was
several hundred dollars cheaper than the Sony. It's "stretched" 4-3
algorithm is particularly good. BillR.

Not to mention it's built-in 1080i upconverter makes analog sources
(VHS and NTSC (analog) TV) look great. This is what you typically
don't see on the showroom floor since most of the time the TVs are
tuned to an HD channel or a DVD is playing.

My votes for the Hitachi. I love mine and no it wasn't my first HDTV
so I don't believe I'm biased.
