Newbie overclocker needs to be told where to start

Is there a guide I can read for this overclocking business. I've built a new rig that has all the trimmings for a great overclocking system (apparently) but I've never overclocked before so I don't know what settings to change to achieve what effects etc.

My system is as follows:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor with Arctic Cooler 7 Pro heatsink & fan
Asus P5N32-E SLi motherboard (nForce 680i chipset)
2Gb OCZ DDR2 PC7200 RAM (5-5-5-15)
Gainward BLISS nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 640Mb graphics card
Antec 900 Ultimate Gamer case
OCZ 700W GameXStream PSU

I think that's about all you need to know. Any pointers on where I start would be much appreciated.

sorry to hi jack this guy's noob thread but i have a noob question also

to run memset86+ 1.70 can i load the thing on a usb flash drive to run it or does it need to be a boot off a cd or floppy

i have a flash drive so i ask

memtest86 is its own little OS. You need to install it to its own media. Follow the install instructions on the memtest86 website.
