Hello All
HP have just posted a rom upgrade for my Ipaq 3715.One of the
"enhancements" is upgrade to mp 10. Can anyone give me their opinion if
this is worth doing? Thanks.

I think so, though I'm sure there are disagreements. The biggest advantage
to me is it's integration with a PC running MP10. Some have been stymied by
some technicalities on how to get playlists on the device, but it can be
done. It's not hard but you have to set it up right.
The great benefit is that when using WMP10 on both devices, when you sync
video, it is automatically converted and compressed. If you have a Media
Center PC and have recorder TV, it even works with that, quite conveniently.
It also handles DRM better if you are using a music download service such as
Napster. You can sync protected songs to a flash card using the MP10 pair.
No you can't take the flash card out and put it in another PPC or music
player, but that's the point of DRM, isn't it.
So, I don't think you lose anything that isn't made up for in other ways,
and you can always get third party music and video players if you don't like
what MP10 does.

all that may be true, but from a simple easy to use player - In my opinion
MP10 sux ! with WMP9 you just hit "local content" and there was all your
media (songs, video). With WMP10 you have to go through a whole slew steps
just to get it to tell you what media is on your device. it also breaks up
media according to where it is stored (CF card, SD card, Built-in, etc...)
instead of just putting it all together. I'm sure it is a better player and
I'm just not used to the new interface, but so far it seems to me as a step
backwards.
