I have a 6 MB Broadband Connection most of the day. But at peak hours
(like from 7 to 10 PM) it slows down to a real crawl and feels like 56 k Modem.
My ISP blames a lot of things that have nothing to do with the problem.
My ISP is COMCAST and I can disclose this because I found in the Internet that a hell of a lot of people is having the same problem in the California area from SF to San Diego.
Since I noticed this problem I found that there is an incredible number of people with the same problem and there are some interesting articles in the Internet about this issue.
COMCAST is not cheap...and after pressing for aswers with local repair techs that make house calls for Comcast and also their Supervisors...I found that Comcast has not upgraded neither expanded their equipment to handle larger volumes of customers and their main lines have become real bottle necks at peak hours. At least this is true in the Central Coast of California where I live.
A Supervisor promessed that the company was fixing the problems in the LA area and the Central Coast and that the problem will be solved in two weeks. Well...two moths later nothing has changed.
What COMCAST has done is advertise in a massive campaign in California...cheap prices for Broadband without being ready to absorve the extra load. Their equipment just simply was not capable of handling the number of customers that signed in.
This is for all those who are hoping that Comcast will fix their problem in California....As far as me is concerned...I am allready moving to another ISP.
