Simple really

Want to upgrade my 6800GS, been thinking of it for ages and investigating new cards.

£211 from Scan - XFX 7950GT XXX version.

£170 from Scan - MSI 7900GTO

Thanks for any feedback

Toms doesnt have the GTO or the XXX version with a 610Mhz GPU speed. From the charts the 7900GTX is better than the standard 7950GT, neither compensates for the Different clock speeds.

What do you guys think. I reckon the GTO quite a bit cheaper and about the same, plus the overclocking ability after a while. Want to play Oblivion, dawn of war and BF2 (online).

XFX has already OC'd it and you shouldn't expect to get too much more headroom from it.

AFAIK the GTO is the GTX with cheaper and slower memory modules and a slower bus. This means less OC capability. Anyway, i think the GTO is a great card whose performance is superior to the 7950GT.

Thanks guys.

I thought the 7900GTO was basically the 7900GTX but with a lower speed.

From what I have been reading the GTO can be overclocked to a 7900GTX and beyond (slightly).

I will get the GTO its quite a bit cheaper!
