Printer ink problem

Having the same black ink problem with my Kodak 5300 printer. Have changed the ink cartidges, cleaned the printer head - everything, but if I want to print some text in black the paper comes out blank. Any suggestions would be gratefully received as I seem to be going round in circles. Jenny

What happens when you try to print in colour and select black as the font colour?
