I am trying to reclaim space on my internal memeory on my X5. I would
like to know what items/files I can move to my SD card and what items I
can delete in order to free up some space. I currently have a 32mb Dell
X5 with 512mb SD card.

I normally install everything onto my SD card so I am surprised to see
that I've nearly run out of space on my internal memory.

Any help is appreciated

Jeff

Jeff - I assume you've soft reset the device before
checking the memory, to assure there are no programs
running that are hogging the memory?

Also - have you cleared the Internet Explorer files on
the PPC?

Every now in then, I will look in my temp folder, and
find hundreds to thousands of small files, which I then
delete.

Let me know if this helps.

I've done the reset, run Memmaid, looked again for files, and now I'm
stumped? Certainly there must be stuff I can remove from the internal
memory?

Anyone got some samrt ideas

You can delete anything you like in the Windows folder. If it actually
deletes, it is not in ROM, and you added it in the first place, hence it is
not essential. Except to the program you loaded that installed it.

Really though the best way to deal with this is to hard reset your X5 and
load things one at a time to see what happens to your RAM. Whether you elect
to install on an SD card or the Built-in-Storage of the X5, some things
still wind up in RAM. Possibly dlls, additions to the registry, extra fonts
(MS Reader), and such. I have seen some programs put a folder on the storage
card and actually install the majority into RAM.

When you find stuff that uses more RAM than you think it should, you have to
make a decision on how badly you need that. Maybe see if there is an
alternative that is more RAM friendly. With a 32M device you have to be
quite judicious about what you load.
