Hi. Ive been planning on building my own pc for quite a while, and a big push forward in my planning has been the malfunction of my hard drivve on my old computer.

Ive never built a pc before but ive read a lot about how its done.
These are the components ive selected.
I plan to upgrade another graphics card for sli and 1 gb more ram in the future when i get the money.

Id appreciate it if a few people could take a look at my parts and make sure they are all compatible. Suggestions are welcome, but i am on a very tight budget and do not want to pay anything more than what i currently cost. I plan to overclock later, once i read more about it.
My Wish List

Thanks

If you will go SLI, get

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188009

or this budget

ASUS P5NSLI
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131032

IIRC, 7800 runs hotter than 7900. It'll warm up the Centurion 5 fast.

eVGA 256-P2-N624-AR GeForce 7900GS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130056

eVGA 256-P2-N550 -T2 GeForce 7600GT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130073

Get this harddisk:

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3250820AS 250GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148142

The sound card isn't necessary. In fact, I hear Creative drivers are memory hogging.

Are you planning on dual screens?

This is way better. 2 120mm fan mounts. Get one more 120mm for the front intake.

COOLER MASTER RC-330-KKN1-GP
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119115

The PSU is crap. Get any of these:

FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN 450W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104954

HIPER HPU-4M480-PS 480W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817128005

Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 500W

ok, i took some of your advice, changed hard drives, graphics card, nixed the sound card(could always add later) and changes psu. But i didnt change cases, and the i think my mobo (any big reason i should change it?) should be good.

Other than that, does anyone see any reasons i shouldnt buy this setup?

Your list looks good. As long as you're within your budget, then I'd say pull the trigger and wait for the parts to arrive.

Good luck!

thanks skyguy, and i noticed in your sig that u got the e6300. Was it easy to overclock to 3.0 Ghz? I like to leave my comp on 24/7 maybe shutting down only 2-3 nights a week. Would that be ok if i were to overclock to that level?

Well, I never turn off my computer, except to reboot after an install or something, or if I go away on holidays. It's running @ 3.0 ghz no problem, temps are fine with my Zalman, and my case isn't that far away from the furnace vent 8O

Getting to 3.0 wasn't too hard. Shouldn't be too hard, as long as you have some decent RAM that can take an overclock and the extra volts needed. The Corsair you're showing should be able to do it. Not sure about your mobo though, looks like an NForce4 chipset/board. Personally I'd go with a P5N-E 650i SLI if I were you, it's cheaper and from what I hear, can hit some really hit FSB numbers for an OC. Just my opinion though, since the 680i is a fair bit more expensive.

So, I can't vouch for your current choice of mobo to hit 3.0....depends if it can push the FSB high or not, since the 6300 has a 7x multiplier. You'll need to hit 430 FSB to reach 3.0 ghz.
