Should I sell and get a 7600GT?

I have an X850Pro. I'm thinking about selling it and getting a 7600GT AGP. Would it be worth the trouble and if so, how much do you think I should sell it for on eBay (X850Pro and Arctic Cooling VGA cooler)?

More about should sell 7600gt
  1. Nah, probably not worth the hassle. I don't know about the 7600GT AGP version, but most of the PCI-e ones are really loud. I put a Zalman VF-700 on my eVGA 7600GT.
  2. Uhhhhhhhh no. As you can see the x850 is faster than the 7600 in every benchmark:

However, it's probably faster because it doesn't do SM 3.0.
  3. That's what I figured.

Actually, the 7600GT would nose out the X850Pro, but not significantly. Not a difference that's worth any money spent.
  5. hi,

go do some comparisons on the VGA charts. then come back in here and tell me the 7600 GT is faster.
  6. You have the pro version doesn't that have 12 pipelines where the XT has 16?
  7. yep, my bad. i'm looking at the XT. sorry SEALBoy
  8. I should have pointed out that you were referring to X850XT benchmarks. Guess we all make mistakes.

    You're fired.
  10. Really? I wasn't aware I had a job. Hang on, doesn't that mean I'm supposed to be paid? Where's my check?
  11. State law says you'll receive your last check on the next regular pay cycle, or 2 weeks from Friday.

Don't like it? Move to California.
  12. Oh no he doesn't, we have enough problems as it is.
  13. I'd like some information:
    What exactly is my job?
    What exactly is my pay?
How long have I been working?
    Where are my previous paychecks?
Do you fire everyone who corrects you?
How the hell did you know I was from Texas?

Well, before I fired you, you were a janitor at a glory hole bookstore.

Well, you didn't get a check last week because you have a $2000 tab at the store. (I told you to ease up on the dolls...)

Not all... some wind up in a jar that sits atop of my computer. It's label is "Ashes of Former Problem Employees"

  16. Damn! No need to get sucked into who has a bigger c*ck. I get it. The original question wasn't posed to elicit a pissing match between fellow forumites, but to figure out if the purchase of a 7600GT would be worth the upgrade (even with the sale of an 850pro). While everyone has their opinion, the answer is no.

For ~210 on newegg right now (after rebate) you can get a X1950 XT 256mb. forget anything else DX9 or wait till DX10.

I just wish these forums had alittle more civility and real people.

fcuk off. and get a sense of humor.
  18. Unfortunately, that's about the answer I was expecting.

lol... there u go. that's called h-u-m-o-u-r. if you plan on sticking around here for long, i suggest you use it and take everything i have to say with a grain of salt. (no doubt you probably already are)

this isn't anandtech. we don't all act like we're 70 year old cognitors and think that being nice will lead to a better world.

    this is TOMSHARDWARE!

    ;-)
  20. My first response would be NO. But, if you must be parted with some of your money, then, IMHO, the only choice (since you're on AGP) is the X1950 Pro. IMHO, save your money for a platform upgrade and then get a PCI-e card since they're cheaper with the PCI-e interface anyway. Your system should be good enough to wait until the Vista/DX10 dust settles.
  21. Ha! I just landed a job with Falcon Northwest, designing their new Mach 5's.
You really shouldn't have fired me.

how would that skill help me increase my margins at my glory hole business?

i'm still confident i made the right decision [/smug]
  23. You could get an X850XT on Ebay for less than a new 7600GT would cost you, and as others have pointed out, the 7600GT gets handled by the X850XT in every benchmark.

The X850XT is the fastest AGP card in its category. The only cards faster are post $180-200.
